Good sneakers are an investment. A few minutes of care keeps them looking box-fresh for years.
The weekly routine
- Dry brush first. Knock off loose dirt with a soft brush before any water touches the shoe.
- Mild cleaner, damp cloth. A drop of gentle cleaner in warm water, worked in circles. Never soak.
- Midsoles with a melamine sponge to lift scuffs.
- Air dry away from heat. Radiators and direct sun yellow soles and crack materials.
Suede & knit
Use a dedicated suede brush and eraser — never soak suede. For knits like Yeezy and running mesh, spot-clean gently.
Two mistakes to avoid
Machine washing (heat + detergent breaks down foam and glue) and storing in sunlight. Stuff with paper and keep them in the box.
Rotate two pairs and they last far longer — a good excuse to grab another from New In.
